Twin Cities Drone School can provide the same rigorous training as our scheduled classes at your location and on your own schedule. This is an intensive, one day training program that will prepare you to pass the FAA Remote Pilot Certificate exam.

And we do this at a discounted rate, because it eliminates the expense of renting a training room. We serve private groups in the following industries:

Program Details

Here's what you need to know:

  • The curriculum is the same as our scheduled classes, and you get all of the same goodies, including our Remote Pilot Resource Pack.
  • This is a one day class. Class times are 8:00am - 5:00pm, with a one hour break for lunch.
  • Groups of 4 or more receive a discount of 25% per person.
  • There are no charges for instructor travel / lodging for locations within a four hour drive of Minneapolis.
  • You provide the meeting room. If you do not have a meeting room, you are responsible for covering costs of renting a local training room.
  • Meeting rooms must have high-speed internet available.

What Does the Class Cover?

The curriculum is the same as our regular scheduled classes.

This is a test prep course which will prepare you to take and pass the FAA exam to obtain your Part 107 FAA Remote Pilot Certificate. This certificate is required for all non-hobby operations.

What's not included

The course does not include any flight instruction, nor do we provide any business consulting, such as which software to use or which insurance to purchase. The class is laser-focused on making sure you pass the test.

Bio

Joel Roggenkamp is a friendly and experienced educator and aviator who takes a student-centered approach to his teaching. He got his start in aerospace education at the age of 14, when he was appointed Aerospace Education Officer of his local Civil Air Patrol squadron. He took the Model Rocketry curriculum he developed there to St. Cloud Community Education, and later to North Hennepin Community College. In addition, he has five years of teaching experience ranging from middle school and high school, to teaching database development courses at the graduate level.

His aviation experience includes Cessna 152s and 172s, and most recently, flight time in a light sport Pipistrel Alpha. As well, Joel has been building and flying small unmanned aircraft systems for six years and is very excited to see where the industry will go, now that the FAA has finalized its rules on drone operations.
